Children who paid a visit to the bakery once shouted, “They are laughing!” as they saw the crispy mini pretzels coming out of the oven. And on closer observation we had to admit they were right. Children in particular love pretzels because their shape seems to be smiling at them. When parents rightly asked whether it was possible to have smaller pretzels without salt scattered on the top, our bakers came up with the special recipe for children’s pretzels.
The Castilan spelt of our children’s pretzels, comes from biodynamic grain cultivation. This typical spelt without wheat crossbreeds was developed by the cereal breeder Heidi Franzke and is very similar in its characteristics to the upper culm redkorn. The nutritional qualities were classified as exceptionally good. The spelt is cultivated in the “Hohenloher Ebene” and carefully ground in the ErdmannHAUSER grain mill. Its baking qualities delight the HUOBER bakers and its excellent taste our customers.
